Hardware Requirements for the Resource Central application server:

Processor: Start with a minimum of 2 cores, 2 GHz processor. Consider processors with higher clock speeds or additional cores for improved performance.

RAM: Begin with 8 GB of RAM to ensure smooth operation, especially considering the resource demands of Windows Server 2022 and IIS. Regularly monitor RAM usage and adjust as needed.

Disk Space: Allocate at least 50 GB for the OS and roles. Provide additional space for the site and paging file. Monitor disk usage and adjust storage accordingly based on site growth and additional applications.

RAID Redundancy: Implement RAID 1 for the system disk and consider RAID 10 for application data disks for improved performance. Regularly check RAID health and replace any failing disks promptly.

Performance Monitoring: Utilize tools such as Windows Performance Monitor or third-party solutions to monitor CPU, RAM, and disk usage regularly. Adjust hardware specifications based on performance insights.

Concurrent User Recommendations:

Small (<50 users) - CPU: 2 cores, 2 GHz & RAM: 4 GB
Medium (<500 users) - CPU: 4 cores, 2-3 GHz & RAM: 8 GB
Large (>500 users) - CPU: 8 cores, 2-3 GHz & RAM: 12+ GB

Additional Tips:

Flexibility: Be flexible in adjusting hardware specifications based on the actual resource requirements of your specific web applications and services.

Future Growth: Plan for future growth by allowing headroom in hardware specifications to avoid frequent upgrades.

Regular Review: Periodically review and adjust hardware specifications based on usage patterns, application changes, and evolving server requirements.

Note on SQL Server:
For optimal performance and scalability, it is recommended to deploy SQL Server on a separate server or cluster. This segregation ensures dedicated resources for both IIS and SQL, preventing resource contention and enhancing overall system performance.

Conclusion: By following these recommendations and regularly monitoring your server's performance, you can maintain an optimal and scalable IIS server environment on Windows Server 2022.

* Extended Support
Add-On Products offers Extended support to clients using certain “Out of Mainstream Support” Microsoft products with our software. This allows you to retain support access for your Add-On Products software while continuing to use older Microsoft products.

Whenever Add-On Products releases a new ‘major release’ (like version 7.0 > version 7.1 or version 7.1 > version 8.0), we will update our system requirements for the product to only contain Microsoft platform products versions, which are in Microsoft Mainstream support. See Microsoft Lifecycle Policy.

If you use a Microsoft product which has ended its mainstream support, you may still be able to be covered by our support – just purchase extended support for the Add-On Products product in question. Add-On Products Extended support will be available as long as Microsoft has the platform under extended support. For each platform check the expiration date listed under "Extended End Date" under Microsoft Lifecycle Policy.

Outlook 2013 connected with O365 is not supported. More information from Microsoft on the topic can be found here.
