With the release of RealTime Service version 6.6.34.40 in August 2024 the option to switch away from Application Impersonation was provided. At the same time the future deprecation of Application Impersonation was announced.
Microsoft is deprecating Application Impersonation starting in February 2025 for all Microsoft 365 customers.
When Microsoft starts turning this permission off RealTime Service will stop functioning. Therefore, action is required and urgent before the end of February to prevent failure / stop of service
Required Actions:
1. You need to ensure the shift to Full Access & Send As Mailbox Permissions.
For Resource Central - information on the required permissions see the following Knowledge Base article:
New Required Permissions for service account after impersonation rights are deprecated
For WebTeam Central and Exchange Central - you will need to follow the below guide and when done go to Realtime Manager and enable Mailbox/Calendar Access under Exchange Servers:
2. What to do when the Permissions are in place
For SaaS customers:
Once you've set up the new permissions, contact [email protected] to notify us of the timing for reconfiguring Realtime Service to use these permissions. Please name the email with subject - "RTS - Full access change", in order for us to be able to single it out quickly.
Add-on Products staff will handle the reconfiguration and upgrade the Realtime Service if necessary.
For self-hosted customers:
Once you've set up the new permissions, you will need to reconfigure Realtime Service to use the new permissions. An upgrade of Realtime Service might be required depending on your current version. After switch, monitor the status through the "Status View" to ensure everything is working properly
