The following will provide a short introduction to some of the new functionalities in New Outlook Add-in (Client Apps) SR1. More information can be found in the different user guides for New Outlook Add-in.
Note: Please re-deploy the manifest file when upgrading from New Outlook Add-in version 1.1.2.
Resource’s rich description into Outlook body
The rich description of the resource (configured on Resource Central backend) will be shown in the body of the Outlook invite when selecting that resource.
This could be used to add specific information to the attendees of the meeting about e.g. how to get to a room when at location.
Warning when removing resource
The resource will be instantly removed from the meeting invite if any of the following cases occurs:
- This resource is in closing time
- Your booking request exceeds the available capacity
- You do not have permission to book this resource
- This resource is selected along with a pooled resource
- Your meeting request conflicts with the resource's booking policies
In these cases, the warning message explaining why it cannot be selected will display, e.g.:
Forcing organizer to open order form
In Resource Central backend, you can enable this feature for the resource to require organizer to open the order form and fill the order form before sending the invite. Otherwise, a warning message is displayed, and the Send action will be blocked:
Note: This feature works regardless of whether the New Outlook Add-in is opened or not:
Filtering favorite resources by use of other filters
In My favorites list, you can find your favorite resources at a more specific level by using other filters such as Categories, Locations, Resource type, and Capacity.
