Locking Device Access
QBIC devices have a Security Password feature that prevents access to the device unless you have the password. This can be set in multiple ways:
- From the device under Settings > Security Password
- Using the Remote Configuration Center
When the password is set, you will be met with a dialog requiring password entry.
Locking Content URL
It is possible to lock the Content URL to prevent accidental modifications. The Content URL directs the device to launch the Digital Sign Client and should not be changed.
This procedure requires a set of files from QBIC that must be opened in a browser while on the same network as the QBIC device (Lock_Content_URL_And_Set_Password.zip
).
The process works as follows:
- Enter the Device Password (default is preset if you have not defined one yourself).
- Press the Get Token button.
- Press the Lock Content URL button.
After completing these steps, the Content URL can no longer be modified.
Locking Access to DS Client Settings
You can add password protection for access to device settings in DS Service:
- Navigate to the menu section CONFIGURATION.
- Select Devices.
- Edit a device.
- Under Advanced, go to Config Password.
- Define the password.
Once configured, you will be presented with a dialog when attempting to access device configuration.
