Calendar Synchronization Issue Caused by Microsoft Graph
- In some situations, OfficePlace Connect may experience issues when synchronizing calendar data with Microsoft Graph. For certain mailboxes, Microsoft Graph may repeatedly return the same calendar data during synchronization and never complete the process.
- This may cause calendar synchronization to take longer than expected or temporarily stop for the affected mailbox. The issue originates from Microsoft Graph and does not indicate a misconfiguration or error in OfficePlace Connect. Customers who wish to learn more about the underlying Microsoft Graph issue can refer to the following Microsoft Learn discussion: Microsoft Graph calendar delta query infinite loop
Status:
- OfficePlace Connect includes internal safeguards to detect this behavior. When an endless sync loop is identified, the synchronization is safely stopped and automatically retried at a later time.
- Microsoft is aware of the issue, and we are actively monitoring updates to Microsoft Graph.
- We are currently working on a temporary workaround within OfficePlace Connect, (which has not yet been released), while awaiting further guidance and a permanent fix from Microsoft. This workaround is intended to reduce the impact in most of the scenarios we have observed, but it may not fully resolve the issue in all cases.
- As an alternative resolution, the issue can be mitigated by removing and recreating the affected resources in Microsoft 365. While this may resolve the problem, it requires administrative effort and may not be suitable for all environments.
