The following is a brief introduction to some of the new functionalities in Workspace and Digital Sign Client, and DS Service.
You can find more information in the user guides for Workspace, Digital Sign Client, and DS Service.
Workspace app
New Reservation
From the Add New Reservation button, you can now quickly select the resource type you are looking for.
Press the ˄ (arrow up) in the two-part command button and a list of resource types available in your setup will be shown.
From here you will be able to quickly select the resource type you are looking for. Remark only Resource Types that are configured in you setup will be shown in the list.
Find Colleague function.
When using the Find Colleague function, the result list will now display the phone and mobile phone numbers of your colleagues.
Workspace now provides Phone and Cell Phone, and Title of the colleague.
These values are taking from the Active Directory (AD), if values are provided in the AD.
Display user picture on Floor map reservation information when occupied.
When viewing the floor map and tapping on an occupied resource, it will now be possible to see the picture of the organizers, as provided from the active directory.
New Parameter to hide location that has no resources.
From time to time, during maintenance on buildings or in other situations, we might encounter locations that have no resources. Thees’s location will be visible for the Workspace interface.
However, by setting up the parameter called Workspace.HideEmptyLocations to TRUE, these locations will be hidden from the Workspace app.
To configure this parameter, you need to navigate to DS Service, SYSTEM, Parameters
Triangle icon has been updated
The triangle icon on 'My Reservation' has been updated to provide more information about the reservation.
What does the colorful triangle icon on the reservation mean?
Digital Sign Client
New object on Door Sign and Reservation Directory template that can be shown when no current reservation.
Now we can use the space on the screen to show a text, picture or video when there is no upcoming meeting.
There is tree new object in the template
[No Meetings Block] / [No Meetings Label] / [Text] or
[No Meetings Block] / [No Meetings Image] / [Source] or
[No Meetings Block] / [No Meetings Video] / [Source]
The object can be used individuayl or together and can be placed all over the screen.
Reservation directory will be able to show a list of reservations in more than one column.
It is now possible to display the Reservation Directory in more than one column, allowing for better utilization of a wide screen.
You can find the settings in the template under [Meeting List View]
field [Number of Columns].
It will be possible to add and alternative text for the timeslots for reservations made as all-day events, so it will be displayed as 00:00 to 00:00
For reservation that has been reserved as a All-day event it is now possible to add an alternative text instead of the start end time like 00:00 to 00:00, The Template object to control this will be found at
[Event Time Label] field [Use alternative text for all-day] where a text string like “ALL DAY” can replace the normal 00:00 to 00:00.
DS Service
Add filter options to list views in the backend to making it easier to filter.
All lists within the DS Service can now be filtered in the same way as we know it from Resource Central.
Remark:
The quick search “Keyword…” function in the upper right corner, searching across all columns, still works in combination with the filtering function. If both the filter and search are active, the search results will be based on the output from the filter, thereby making “Keyword…” search a secondary function.
Admin account settings.
It is now also possible to set up the first day of the week for each administrator, from SYSTEM, Administrator, under Language and regional settings, it is now possible to set the First Day Of Week per admin, it can either be Monday or Sunday.
Admin must now be setup to control only a part of the Location tree, by default when upgrading all admin will have access to the root location and all sublocations.
Templates editor.
Auto Save
In earlier releases, when working in the DS Service Template Editor, autosave was enabled by default, so the template was automatically saved when updates were made. This caused some unexpected issues, as editing templates in use on different devices would cause the screen to flicker every time they were automatically saved. Therefore, autosave is now an optional feature that can be turned on or off, with the default setting being off.
OS-independent template settings
We have from this version remove the possibility to make OS-independent template settings. Back in time where the Digital Sign Client was designed and developed we had some issues that iOS (iPad) , Android and Windows did not 100% controlled the screen settings in the same way and therefore we made it possible to make OS-independent versions of the same template. This is more and less history now, so we have removed this functionality.
